Fetan SMS ("we", "our", "the app") is a smart SMS manager for businesses. This policy describes what data we collect and how we use it.
1. Who we are
Fetan SMS is developed by Blue Tech. The app and its backend services are used to manage bank transaction SMS, forward payment notifications, and manage subscriptions.
2. Data we collect
- Account and identity: Name and phone number (for registration and subscription).
- Device information: Device identifier (derived on-device, not hardware IMEI) for subscription and device verification.
- Subscription and payment proof: When you subscribe, payment is made by local Ethiopian bank transaction only. We do not collect card or payment credentials. We only receive information you provide to verify that payment (e.g. screenshot of bank transfer) and subscription plan/status.
- App usage: Transaction history (from SMS you receive), subscription status, and app activity necessary to run the app (e.g. heartbeat for subscription validation).
- SMS: The app reads and processes bank transaction SMS on your device to parse payments and forward notifications. SMS content is processed locally and sent to our server only as needed for forwarding and subscription validation.
- Contacts: The app can access your contacts only when you choose to pick a contact (e.g. to add sales personnel to forward notifications to). We use this solely for the in-app contact picker; we do not upload or store your contact list on our servers.
3. How we use data
We use the data above to:
- Provide the app (SMS parsing, forwarding, reports, subscription management).
- Verify your subscription and device (e.g. heartbeat, device change).
- Verify payment when you submit proof (screenshot) after a local Ethiopian bank transaction.
- Send you notifications about subscription status and payment reminders.
- Improve and secure our services (e.g. preventing abuse).
4. Subscription and payment
Subscription is paid by local Ethiopian bank transaction only. Payment is made at the bank (or via your bank's channels). This app does not process payment and does not collect card or other payment credentials. The app is only used to choose a plan, view bank account details, and submit payment proof (e.g. screenshot) for verification.
5. Sharing and storage
We do not sell your data. Data is sent to our own servers to run the app and verify subscriptions. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights and safety. Data is stored on our servers and on your device (e.g. transaction history in the app).
6. Security
We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Sensitive data on the device is stored in app storage; we do not log SMS content or personal data in production.
7. Your rights
You can stop using the app and request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. See our Request Data Deletion page for how to do this.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
